We are looking for a passionate Skincare Perfumer with an essential oil background who will create and duplicate essential oil blends for aromatherapy products that align with our brand vision. We are seeking an individual that is driven to innovate and develop new formulas that will excite our customers. They must be comfortable formulating with natural raw materials and essential oils, according to various natural and organic certification standards.
Job Duties:
- Create innovative products using natural organic ingredients and essential oils by modifying or improving existing formulas for both cost and efficacy.
- Analyze, create & duplicate essential oil blends for aromatherapy products.
- Compound essential oil blends for evaluation & testing.
- Ability to acquire, assess and source raw materials.
- Work closely with marketing to meet product & price requirements.
- Propose innovative aromatic profiles and raw materials to meet the company's standards.
- Perform daily lab operations to compound oils and natural raw materials for creating batches and testing.
- Conduct stability testing and troubleshoot unstable formulas to ensure commercial feasibility.
- Prepare protocols, reports, and test methods and write SOP's. Clearly and accurately communicate the result of work by creating documentation. Records results accurately, clearly and regularly.
- Create sampling, feedback surveys, multiple rounds of product submissions to achieve company milestones.
- Understand, follow, and adhere to project timelines development to ensure targets are achieved.
Qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. in chemistry or related scientific discipline.
- Advanced training in perfumery with emphasis on essential oils.
- 2-5+ years experience in formulating essential oil blends and evaluating raw materials, or working in a skincare perfumery-related field.
- Experience with and passion for utilizing only pure and natural essential oils (no isolates nor synthetics) in formulations.
- Knowledge of aroma profiles and chemical composition of essential oils used in aromatherapy.
- Experience in sourcing natural and organic raw materials.
- Laboratory experience and knowledge of common analytical/physical testing methods.
- Knowledge of USDA & FDA guidelines is a plus.
- Must be able to easily adapt to priority changes and able to work on simultaneous projects to meet established deadlines.
- Project management, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and be self-driven for success.
- Proficiency in MS Office programs.

Pay: $18.00 - $32.00 per hour
